Stephen M. Ross Academic Center

The Stephen M. Ross Academic Center was created specifically for the University of Michigan’s student-athletes and provides a place where the athletic community can study and receive specialized academic support. Completed in winter 2006, the 38,000-square foot building sits in the heart of the athletic campus and is adjacent to the Marie Hartwig Building on S. State Street between Yost Ice Arena and Weidenbach Hall. The three-floor facility features individual and group study areas, computer labs, meeting rooms for tutorial work, a large meeting room and assembly areas for group projects, as well as offices for instructional support staff.

The Ross Academic Center is 38,000 square feet and includes individual and group study areas, a computer center, meeting rooms and offices for the Academic Success Program staff.

The Karen and Steve Sanger Math Lab is run with both drop-in and appointment-based tutorial sessions, using campus resources to help our students succeed in the mathematical fields. Next door is the Robert & Karen Rock Tutorial Room which houses the Learning Services program and its 20-plus mentors who help students master the overall skills needed to excel at Michigan.

Upstairs, the Ross Academic Center is home to the new Center for Leadership Development and Career Preparation. Currently, it features 17 individual study areas for 1-on-1 tutorial sessions or group projects. The Ed & Patty Wahtera Tutorial Lounge serves as one of two meeting areas where students can either study quietly or meet with tutors.
